Great Free Software!

             

          Skype is excellent and a free software to get on your computer.  It is absolutely free.  All you need to use it a computer or a device with internet connection with speakers and a microphone. You could also use a headset. You can also make video calls on this software which requires your device to have a webcam, but that it optional.  Skype also has a chat so you don’t actually have to call or video call.  Skype works on many different devices such as cellular phones, computers, tablets, etc. 

          Trillian is a good software to have if you love social media.  Trillian is an instant messenger that allows you to chat on many different social Medias combined into one software.  It allows you to chat on Skype, Facebook, ICQ, Yahoo, and many more.  Trillian also works on many different devices.  You’re not just limited to using it on your computer.

          The Pandora Desktop App is good software to have on your computer.  It is good because you can play Pandora directly from your desktop and it saves you from having to open another tab on your internet browser.  All you have to do is get on the website and sign into your account and then download the software and follow the instruction to install it. Sign into your account on the desktop app then viola you’re done.  

Reviewing Classmate's Blogs

1. Lorem's Blog!

       I think that your blog was really good. All of your blog post were really good and had lots of detail. There was really only one think that I saw that I thought maybe you needed to change that was adding an about me. You really don't give any detail about yourself except for the introduction blog post.

        I liked your blog.  I think maybe you need to come up with a different name, because other people that is not in that class may not know what that means.

3.Allyson's Blog!

       Your blog was really good.  I think you need to put some information about yourself on your blog, because you don't even have your name on your blog. Other than the fact that you don't have any information about yourself your blog is really good. That is all you need to change I think.

4. Ted's Blog! 

         You definitely need to change the name of your blog. This whole blog isn't really just about computers, it really isn't about computers at all. These blogs are more about programs and websites you use on the computer. If it was about computers this blog would be telling me about computers and how to use them, but it doesn't it tells me about things that you do on computers. Also I think you need an about me and maybe a photo of yourself.

5. Rob's Blog! 

          I think that your blog is really good. I the background, but I think that you need to make the font a little more readable. Also you don't have an about me. People that read your blog wants to know a little about the author. Other than those minor things I think it is really good.

         I think that you need to Change your font color, because orange font is a little hard to sit and read for long periods of time. It kind of strains the eyes. Also you need to move your about me to the top.

       Your background is dark you might want to fix it up a bit.  Also you don't have an about me or any photos of yourself. Also maybe change your title that kind of has nothing to do with anything.

           I think maybe you should change the name of your blog and also you don't have any about me. Also it wouldn't hurt to add some photos and such.  I like your background but maybe change the color on the front around the sides because the orange isn't all that visible.

             Your blog needs an about me and maybe some photos as well. your background is really dark I think it needs some color.  White and Black strains the eyes after reading it for awhile.

                  Your blog was really good. I think the only thing your blog needs is a title and maybe change the font color.  Everything else looks really good and put together.  All of you blogs are really good. I think the only thing you need is the title and you'll be good to go.

               I think your blog was really good. I also like how you wrote about a personal experience with the tea. I think you need to put somethings about yourself because the people reading your blog wants to know a little bit about the author. Your blog was really good other than all of that.

Sky Drive vs. Google Drive vs. Libre Office vs. Open Office

All of which are all replicas of Microsoft office.  Sky Drive and Google Drive are online, whereas Libre Office and Open Office are not.  All are free and are almost the exact same as Microsoft without paying a ton of money of them.

 I use Sky Drive and Google Drive the most mainly because it is online and you don’t have to worry about carrying around a flash drive if you are going somewhere with internet connection or worrying about it taking up storage on your computer.  They both give you storage for all of your documents or whatever you may use it for.  However, Sky Drive gives you more free storage than Google Drive does. 

           

           Libre Office and Open office are both offline, and you can save all of your work onto your computer and your flash drive if you wish.  The pros of both of these are that they are both free and they have pretty much the same things as Microsoft without the pay.  They both have different pros and cons, but they both have some formatting bugs that need worked out but what program don’t?

            All in all I think I like Google Drive the best.  I like it the best, because I can access all of my documents and my email all at once. I also think it is easier to send a document or whatever it may be via email, because you can share it with anybody.  Also you can set the document you share with somebody so that they can edit it also. 

Evernote vs. Springpad

         

 

       Evernote and Springpad are similar in ways such as they are used for keeping notes and clipping things from the web that you want with the extensions for your browser.  The both store your notes and allow you to access them with different devices that you may have.  They also both have apps for you phones whatever they may be as long as it is a smart phone.  You can also get them on the Ipad and tablets too.

       However, I prefer to use Evernote.  I like Evernote better because it gives you more options on what you want to clip from a page such as if there is just a picture on the page that you want you can clip only the picture, whereas you can’t do that with Springpad.  I also like the fact that there is an offline version of Evernote and there is not with Springpad. 

          

        There are things that I do like better on Springpad better such as the fact that it is defiantly way more colorful and it is just pretty.  I also like the fact that you can see other people’s notes as well as your own.  Some people have some pretty good recipes and things that might benefit other people. Evernote does not have that quality.

           

    All in all I like Evernote better.  I like being able to work on it offline as well as online and I the fact that you don’t have to clip the whole page just to get a picture you can choose to clip only the picture.
